Nicholle Tom

Nicholle Tom started in the business at a young age, but now she is all grown up. Speaking of "up," she can be seen in 2006's Bottoms Up and on the IFC channel's The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman. Working for so many years in such a difficult industry is sure to pay off big time for the dedicated actress who loves what she does, and does what she loves.

The Star Scoop:

Tell us about The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman for the IFC Channel.

Nicholle Tom:

It’s the first original scripted series for the network. I play Tara, [and] I work for a production company, and my best friend is Jackie Woodman. Basically it’s just trying to make it in Hollywood with my friend and nobody really cares, and getting scripts out there, and being a best friend to her, driving her around all over the place…The Minor Accomplishments, it was probably some of the most fun I’ve had in years, doing that. The people were so sweet; Laura’s just the funniest writer. Just working with them, I almost got a little nervous, because they’re so funny, so quick humored.

The Star Scoop:

When can we see this show?

Tom:

It airs on Fridays and Sundays at 8pm and 11pm. It might be 8pm 10pm on the east coast.

The Star Scoop:

In Memory of My Father – what is this film about? Can you tell us about your character, and how you got involved?

Tom:

I play a girl name Nicole. My friend Christopher James, he wrote and directed and edited, and starred, produced, he did everything. We were really good friends before he wrote the movie, and he just kind of got a bunch of friends together, and we shot it. We shot it in two weeks. Actually, we rehearsed for two weeks and we shot it in two weeks. It was largely improvised, and it’s about a father, who dies, and his last dying wish is for his two sons to make a documentary of his death and that’s the only way they’ll be able to get his inheritance. It’s a full length feature; it should be out in November…It’s been a long time in the works.

The Star Scoop:

Is there anything else we should know about coming up for you?

Tom:

I’ve got Bottoms Up that’s coming out. I play a Hollywood type “Entertainment Tonight reporter with tights kind of person. Paris Hilton’s in that. I auditioned and I got it. My brother had worked with the director. It was a weird kind of connection there. You keep on running into people that you know. It’s a very small world out here.

The Star Scoop:

How have you managed to stay in this business for so long?

Tom:

I think the way that I’ve been able to continue to work throughout the years, is just be in acting class, and take it very seriously, and probably just keep on working. If your friend has something that he wants you to do, continue to work on all sorts of different things, so that you’re constantly getting out there.

The Star Scoop:

What’s next for you? What direction would you like to see your career take?

Tom:

I’d really like to do a sexy film, where I play a sexy character. I’d like to do a suspense thriller…I’ve always just loved to pretend and create new characters, and I’m a very competitive person. I like to challenge myself, and I think that the challenge has been one of the reasons why I’ve really stayed in it. It’s exciting, and sad, it’s everything wrapped into one business. I wouldn’t want to do anything else with my life.
