Christian George

TheStarScoop.Com got the scoop from Christian George about his music and more. He may seem like a bad boy, but he's a bad boy with heart, telling us he goes home when he can, and talks to his grandmother three to four times a week. With good looks to boot and a catchy single, Christian George is a force to be reckoned with.

The Star Scoop:

Give us a bit about your background, how you would sum yourself up to our readers.

Christian George:

I moved out to California and I was a model, and hated every minute of modeling so I kind of fell into dancing like the first day I was here. And that was my life for the first several years. I was fortunate enough to be able to dance for every major superstar from Britney to Puff Daddy. After I felt like I'd had enough of that, I fell into styling as well. Let me preface the whole thing by saying that this was all a way for me to make money to support my music through my time out here. That's always what I really wanted to do, was my music. After a couple years of that, I was fortunate enough to get my record deal. A year later, here I am. It was the idea way of supporting myself because it still kept me in the circle that I needed to be in for my music. It was a great way to really learn the business and pay my dues. When you're rubbing shoulders on stage with big acts, [you] pay very close attention to what they were doing right in my opinion, and be very sensitve to what I didn't think that they were doing so great. I didn't make the same mistakes I thought that they were making.

The Star Scoop:

Specifically what have you taken away from these bigger acts?

George:

I think it can be as simple as saying please and thank you. I think people appreciate being appreciated, and not feeling like they're your servant or they're working for you - more or less they're working with you.

The Star Scoop:

As far as coming up with your sound and style, has this been an ongoing process through your life?

George:

I've been very much influenced by artists like Elvis Presley, George Michael. The reason being, Elvis, in my opinion, well, I guess pretty much everybody's opinion was for his generation he was doing soul music, black music. It wasn't really considered urban then. It was just the black music. Obviously, he did pretty good with it. In my opinion, the second coming of that Elviseque like act was George Michael, because he was a white act, and he was doing black soul music. Very humbly speaking, I'm looking forward to being that act for my generation. Even though "Strangers," the first song off my record is a dance release, the majority of the record is soul/urban, but soul not in so much the sense of the genre of music. It really came from my soul. I've been working on this record for several years now. It's a reflection of the experiences I've gone through. Very honest...vulnerable on the record. It's a piece of me. I feel like people appreciate that. As a new artist, they want to have some sort of connection or feel like they're really diving into that artist's world.

The Star Scoop:

Who do you think the record will appeal to? Who are those fans going to be?

George:

It's fast. You know, 20s and up. Because it deals with a lot of heartbreak. I feel like everybody's experienced that at one point in their life. If they haven't they're bound to. A lot of being in love. A lot of songs deal primarily with sex because when I wasn't going through heartbreak, I was living, for lack of a better word, like a playboy lifestyle, only because I really wasn't that interested. I was really concentrating on the record. I felt like getting into a relationship at that point in my life wasn't really in the cards for me. I had to concentrate at the task at hand. It made for fantastic material.

The Star Scoop:

Do you have a favorite track or one that sticks out for you?

George:

Because they're so personal to me, it's really hard to answer that question. I don't know. "Strangers" is a great lead-off single, because of the content. It's kind of self-explanatory, celebrating a one night stand. Whether you've had one or not, it's one of those things that I feel like everybody has a sexual side to them, a little bit of that in them, whether they wear it on their outside or not. Just singing a song about it, because they're fun to do, sometimes, if you're safe.

The Star Scoop:

What do you want the fans to know about you?

George:

That I am an artist, in every sense of the word. I live my art, and it's like I said, it's a direct reflection of my life. It's very, very, very, very, honest. I'm not the most emotional guy in my day to day life. But, a lot of my songs are very vulnerable. A lot of myself being vulnerable on this record. I want people to know I write all my music. I co-produce most of my music. I style myself. I'm involved with my choreography. I directed my video. I do all those things mainly because I don't think anybody knows me better than me. So, what you're getting visually, with my music, everything, is Christian George, if I'm speaking in the third person.

The Star Scoop:

What should fans expect from you in the future?

George:

Well, I feel like if I didn't answer that by saying, I'm looking to be the biggest star, biggest act, biggest artist in the world, I'd be selling myself short. I've worked too hard, too long, put too much into this to not strive to be the best at it. Only because I know I can be. Everything I've done, up until this point with my career, from dancing to styling, I have been fortunate enough to be able to do it at the top of the food chain. So, I've kind of set the bar pretty high for myself, and hopefully that will bleed into what I'm doing for myself. That's what I look forward to. It's such a process.

The Star Scoop:

Anything about the record you want to get out there?

George:

I've lived a crazy life, and it's a lot of crazy experiences. It's a pretty crazy record, the content. It's going to be very interesting to step into my world for an hour and see where I've been and what I've done. "Strangers" is available on i-Tunes, and we put a couple other records up on the website to give people another taste of the record. But, I'm constantly recording and we're looking to put the record out at the beginning of the year, first quarter. I'm still always recording and some of these songs, these newer songs still might make the record. So much to get out. I just stay in the studio.
