Sade Faison

Sade Faison

Sade Faison is a 16-year-old musician who is making quite a buzz with her singles. While she may not be the only one to take advantage of the Internet and its role in furthering an aspiring musician's career, her sound is certainly unique.

The Star Scoop:

Tell us about the songs "It's Cool," and "Take It Easy" and why you think they were so popular.

Sade Faison:

Well, those songs actually mean a lot to me because they were [two] of the first songs I put out as a solo artist. They were both written during the summer, and during a very good time in my life. So, that's why I'm really proud of them, and proud of their success. I'm not really sure why they became so popular. But, I think it has to do with the fact that they're both really fun, feel good songs, and a lot of girls (and even some guys) can relate to them.

The Star Scoop:

For those who have never heard your music before, tell us a bit about your sound.

Faison:

I would describe my sound as really Pop. When I think of Pop, I think of different sounds and not just one particular genre. I try to change my sound up as much a possible because I think it's cool to try different things as an artist.

The Star Scoop:

Do you write your own songs? What is your involvement in the music you put out?

Faison:

I actually do write all of my songs. My friends and I write all of [the] time, which is why most of [the] lyrics are really fun and not at all that serious. I work with a lot of producers, when it comes to actually recording the song, but all of the words that you hear come from me.

The Star Scoop:

Is there a record deal in your future?

Faison:

hope so! I think it would be great to get my music out to a wider audience, but for right now I think I'm in a good position right now. I'm young, so there's still a lot of time for me to grow.

The Star Scoop:

What artist would you most like to work with, given the opportunity?

Faison:

I would love to work with a lot of the great female singers that are out there right now. People like Beyonce, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Fergie, and maybe even Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls.

The Star Scoop:

If we borrowed your i-Pod, what would we be likely to hear?

Faison:

Well, I pretty much listen to everything. From rock, to pop, to even some hip-hop. I really like Colbie Caillat, and I like a lot of the music that Rihanna is putting out. My favorite song right now is "Lollipop (Remix)" by Lil' Wayne.

The Star Scoop:

How has the Internet been useful for you as an artist?

Faison:

It's definitely helped a lot. I mean, I went from telling a few of my friends on the "America's Most Talented Kids" message boards to listen to some of my songs, to having a #1 single on one of the largest internet radio shows around. So, I'm really grateful that the Internet gives independent artists a chance to be heard.

The Star Scoop:

Why should our readers check out your Myspace page?

Faison:

I think your readers should check out my MySpace page www.myspace.com/saderocks.com. if they want to hear some cool tracks from me, be updated on everything I'm doing, and just to get in touch with me, because I love talking to all of my fans and I actually do read the messages they send me.

The Star Scoop:

You're only 16. Where do you think you'll be by 21?

Faison:

I really hope to be a successful and influential entertainer, as well as being successful in life.

The Star Scoop:

When can we expect new music from you?

Faison:

Well, I'm always making new music, and there is a lot of music that my fans haven't heard yet. But, I'm planning on releasing some new stuff, so they can get a taste of what's to come.
