TheStarScoop.Com talked to Jadyn Maria about music and more!
The Star Scoop:
Tell us about your background. How did you get into music?
Jadyn Maria:
Well, I'm Jadyn Maria. I'm a brand new artist. I'm actually Ne-Yo's first artist. I literally grew up singing in church. At 14, I started actually pursuing it as a career. I knew it was more than just a hobby. It was a calling and a passion. Ten years later, I'm 24, and I'm so excited. I've got the best team possible. Working with Ne-Yo has been amazing. We've teamed up with Universal Motown and we've been working on my album for a year, and it is completely finished. It's called "Man's World," and it's expected out this fall.
The Star Scoop:
Tell us about what people should expect from your album. What will it sound like? Give us a preview.
Jadyn Maria:
Sure. My album is a very pop, fun album. I've got songs that have got acoustic elements in them. I've got songs that are great for the club. I've got a really good balance, and I feel like I've got a diverse mix. Overall, like I said, it's very pop and very fun. I grew up...I wasn't allowed to listen to secular music. But in 7th grade, my aunt gave me a Mariah Carey tape, and she has been my favorite ever since. I have always loved Mariah. She was a huge influence to me. But even current influences, obviously love Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga. I respect all of them so much. Don't be surprised if you hear flavors of that. I'm very, very excited about my album.
The Star Scoop:
Tell us what message you want your fans to take away from your music.
Jadyn Maria:
The album is called "Man's World," and the overall theme is very woman empowering, but not man bashing because we do love our boys. But it is woman empowering. I've got a song called "I Come First," which is basically just saying, I'm not gonna wait in line. It's either me or you're not gonna have me at all. I think every girl should know that she deserves to keep her standards high and never lower them for anyone. So it's a very uplifting album...women are much stronger than we give ourselves credit for and we should never hide behind the fact that we may or may not feel it's a man's world. I saw in the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the mother said it well, she said, "The man is the head of the home, but the woman is the neck that turns the head." I think we don't realize how much power and strength we actually have. We're capable to do anything we put our minds to.
The Star Scoop:
What do you want to say directly to your fans?
Jadyn Maria:
The reason that I'm doing music is for fans and to touch people. My ultimate goal is to touch as many people as possible and inspire them in some way. That's why I try to write songs that people can relate to. At the end of the day, yes it's therapeutic for me, but it is all about them. I want to touch as many people as possible. And beyond the music, I want to encourage anyone out there with any goals, it doesn't just have to be if you want to be a singer or an actress, any goals, period, I just want to encourage everyone to just never give up because these things may look like they happen over night, but they don't. Like I said, I've been working towards this for 10 years, and I'm still just in the beginning. If you don't give up and if you stay true to who you are, you can and will achieve your dreams.
The Star Scoop:
