The Star Scoop:

Tell us about playing Emma Lau on Aaron Stone.

Tania Gunadi:

Emma Lau leads a double life. During the day, she's just a regular girl next door who likes to hang out with friends, go get bubble tea. She likes to play video games and hang out with Charlie [and] play the drums in his band. However, after school, she becomes Dark Tamara, and Dark Tamara is the world's best weapons designer. She creates all the weapons and upgrades all the jackets for Aaron Stone, helping him save the world. Occasionally she kicks some enemy butt. It makes it exciting because I get to play two roles. One is a girly girl and the other one is really badass!

The Star Scoop:

How would you motivate people to watch Aaron Stone who haven't seen it before?

Tania Gunadi:

Those people who really like to play video games will really appreciate Aaron Stone because it's based on avatars in video games who become real life superheros. Also, for people who like the idea of leading double lives, and you get to save the world and yet be a teenager and have romance at the same time, you get to have some family time...it's all in one in Aaron Stone. You get to follow the adventure of Aaron Stone and his friends.

The Star Scoop:

What is it like to be a role model to so many young kids by working for Disney?

Tania Gunadi:

I feel very lucky to be able to work for Disney. It was actually my dream since I started acting. One of my first TV jobs was for Disney - Even Stevens. Ever since I worked for them, I said to myself, I hope one day I can be a series regular. My first job was a guest star. It's been very amazing first of all to be part of Disney again. With Disney comes wonderful fans: the younger kids.

The Star Scoop:

How have you been able to work for so long in this business?

Tania Gunadi:

When I go into the auditions, and I look around and see all these people...I used to feel like competitions are crazy so I couldn't look [around]. Something changed and I realized that I shouldn't see it that way anymore. Ever since then, I never look at the business when I'm auditioning for a role, as, Oh, I have competition and I need to beat the competition. I need to win this job. Instead, I'm looking at it as appreciat[ing] the audition. It's an opportunity in the past when I was growing up in Indonesia, I'd never get. Ever since then, I'm just a happier person. I book more jobs than before.

The Star Scoop:

Do you have other projects coming up?

Tania Gunadi:

At the moment, I am collaborating with two writers and we are writing. We're not sure if it's going to be short or a feature right now. It's a fantasy. That's my project right now.

The Star Scoop:

What do you want to say to the readers?

Tania Gunadi:

I would like to say, don't listen to people who are negative and are telling you things that make you feel that your dreams are not attainable, because everything is possible. I couldn't really speak English when I came to the states. All things are possible!
