Sabrina Bryan
Sabrina Bryan is just like every other girl. Except that she's a Cheetah Girl, and she's heading out on tour with her girls. Super busy preparing, Sabrina still took some time to do a little cheetah chatter with us.
The Star Scoop:
How has everything been going since The Cheetah Girls premiered?
Sabrina Bryan:
It's just so amazing. We did "Good Morning America," and we have different interviews with magazines. We're just constantly going from one thing to the next. We are waking up every single morning at like four thirty in the morning, and working all day. The movie premiered, and it was so exciting.
The Star Scoop:
How is it, getting an acting job, and a musical phenomenon, in one?
Bryan:
When I found out about the audition, it was like, oh my gosh, this would be so cool, it's everything that I love to do. I love to sing, I love to dance, I love to act, and I get to do everything. I kept getting callbacks, and it kept getting more and more exciting, and we shot the movie, and I had such an amazing time in Toronto, meeting the girls, and getting to know them, and just working consecutively for nine, ten weeks. It was one of the longest shoots that I've ever been on. When we got the response from the fans, just finding out that overwhelming response from the fans was just so amazing. And then when we found out that our album sold over two million copies, and they didn't even at all advertise the album, it was incredible for us. Then it was starting to be talked about, and then finally me Adrienne, and Kiely did a song on Disney Mania Three. That was about a year and a half ago...[Now] we have a fan base that's completely established. This is something that the kids just really want to hear new music from us. Everything has been so incredible, and such a huge, overwhelming joyride to be on. We have a video game coming out, and we're getting all of our tour merchandise together. It's so exciting. It just really is such an amazing experience to be part of.
The Star Scoop:
So it's safe to say your life has completely changed since working with Disney.Bryan:
Oh, definitely. I think the most amazing thing in my life is the awareness of the need of positive role models, and sending a good message to young girls, and empowering young girls. It's really opened my eyes. Once I saw the feedback from the fans and then really started to care about them, it's not just the fans as far as our careers, but caring about young girls, and knowing what it was like to have a role model in my life growing up, with my mom. Being able to look up to someone is so important, and that's what The Cheetah Girls really stand for, is sending out good messages to young girls. That's when I really started to get interested in the health and fitness world of young girls with my BYou video. Just having that platform of The Cheetah Girls to go off of, and send out another message about body image, and having a positive body image for young girls, and becoming yourself and showing your own true, personal colors.
The Star Scoop:
What's next for you?
Bryan:
There are so many things going on during tour rehearsal, it's like, trying to keep everything in my head about what time I'm supposed to do what, and having time for everything. It's been so crazy. We're reproducing songs for the tour, we have a new song called "Cheetahlicious" that we're doing, and it will be the first time the fans can hear it, is on the tour. That will be one of our new singles, it will come out soon. The tour is what's next, and we'll have a new album. We're going to be pretty busy with this tour for quite a while, but after that, there are talks about another movie.
The Star Scoop:
How do you and the other Cheetahs get along? You seem to be spending all your time with them!
Bryan:
Kiely and Adrienne are like my best friends. All three of us are working so hard to put out good material. We're so proud of the new movie, and we were so excited for the fans to see it, and also so excited for the fans to hear the new album. Now we're excited for fans to see our tour, and come out and watch us, and have a good time, and have an amazing time with us at our concert. I love it because we all have the same energy and want to be Cheetah Girls, and we just collaborate so well together. Especially with this tour being such a creative process for us. Just diving into the entire aspect of what it means to be an artist.
The Star Scoop:
You're part of a group, but what about yourself apart from it?
Bryan:
I work hard to send the same messages as what the Cheetah Girls [do] in the movie, it's all about empowering young girls, and encouraging them to reach for their dreams, and not stop until they actually attain them.
The Star Scoop:
What are your goals in terms of this business?
Bryan:
I say, do it all, why not? I really like being a Cheetah Girl. I can't think of a better job than hanging out with my two best friends all the time, and working together and putting out good material, and being able to really be proud of what we put out. You really feel like you're doing a good thing when the parents come up to you and go, I just want to tell you that I appreciate what you're doing for my daughter, your music is clean, I trust you guys. For a parent to say, I trust you guys, it's just a rewarding feeling for us.
The Star Scoop:
Is it hard for you being in the position of a role model?
Bryan:
It's really, actually easy, because we're just being ourselves. We're not trying to hide anything. We're really, truly, just ourselves. Even after The Cheetah Girls, our goal is to always send out positive messages and help women across America. It's on all levels. We love supporting women, and young girls, and children.
