THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us about yourself.
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
I’m Daniel Curtis Lee, I’m fourteen years old. I’m from the state of Mississippi, but now I’m out here in California. I play on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.
THE STAR SCOOP:
How did you get into the business?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
I never really wanted to act. My brother was doing it. We had to move from Mississippi out here to California and I was really angry about that. I started seeing my brother cast in everything, and I just watched him study his parts and I was like, that’s really cool. So my dad started taking me to a couple auditions and I started landing things. Now I’m here.
THE STAR SCOOP:
How did you get your role on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
A lot of auditions. I was not a part of the pilot episode. But then they had auditions again, and I auditioned more times, and I got a call that I had gotten the role. I was excited when I first heard the news, but the day we had to go sit around the table for a table read, I was kind of nervous. I was wondering what other people might think.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What makes the show so popular?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
It’s a show made for kids, it talks to kids. It’s not a cartoon, it’s real characters. It helps kids survive middle school.
THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us about your character, Cookie.
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
He’s a very nerdy character, but he doesn’t know he’s nerdy. He thinks he’s probably one of the coolest kids.
THE STAR SCOOP:
We also talked to your costar, Devon Werkheiser. Can you give us a little scoop?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
It’s cool working together. He’s a really funny guy. And Lindsey Shaw, who plays Moze on the show, we all hang out on the set.
THE STAR SCOOP:
What are your hobbies right now?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
I love football. I play the drums; I just started playing
THE STAR SCOOP:
Are you competitive with your brother, being an actor too?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
No, never. The way I see it, what he gets, I get. That’s the way I like to think about it. Who else would I rather have the part? If we were both going for the same part, I’m like, I didn’t get it, but my brother got it. Would I prefer for someone else to have gotten the part? It’s not competitive at all.
THE STAR SCOOP:
Do you have any other projects in the works?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
I’m still working on Ned.
THE STAR SCOOP:
What aspirations do you have in acting?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
I would just love to go to the big screen. If there was something coming up that was on television, I would do it, don’t get me wrong, but I’d like to do something different. I’m interested in plays.
THE STAR SCOOP:
Do you see yourself still acting when you’re older?
DANIEL CURTIS LEE:
Oh, yeah, of course. I really enjoy it. I played football, I love football. I’d probably love to do both, if there was a way.
