THE STAR SCOOP:
To those unfamiliar with you or you work, please introduce yourself.
JORDAN YALE LEVINE:
My name is Jordan Yale Levine. I am a 24 year old film producer and President/CEO and co-owner of Fylmar Productions, a feature film/finance company in Beverly Hills, California. I have Executive Produced eight films so far, including Tooth and Nail with Michael Madsen and Vinnie Jones, Paid with Corbin Bernsen and Tom Conti, and MO starring Erik Per Sullivan and Margo Martindale.
In the beginning I was also managing while I was honing my skills as a producer…clients like former Pro Wrestler Ernest “The Cat” Miller, and multi platinum rapper, Obie Trice. One highlight in my career so far was securing Ernest Miller’s role as “The Ayatollah,” in Darren Aronofsky’s Oscar nominated film, The Wrestler. After trying different hats in the business, I found myself gravitating towards being an Executive Producer and producing projects of my own, as well as delving into acting.

Tell us about your upcoming projects.
JORDAN YALE LEVINE:
On November 9th I am producing the psychological drama The Land of The Astronauts, in Los Angeles that will be directed by Carl Colpaert and will star David Arquette, Vivica A. Fox, and a few other great names I cannot release at this time.
In addition, I am also executive producing a horror film called Wreckage that stars 2009 Emmy nominated actor Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Cameron Richardson, and Mike Erwin. Finally, I just finished my acting debut in thriller 2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys! It’s the sequel to the cult thriller “2001 Maniacs”. The sequel is directed by Tim Sullivan and starring Bill Mosley, and Lin Shaye, and I play the role of “K Jay.”
THE STAR SCOOP:
You’re very young to be so successful. How did you get your start and to what do you attribute your success at this young age?
JORDAN YALE LEVINE:
I was exposed to the film business when my family friend invested and became executive producer of the Oscar nominated film, The Illusionist, with Edward Norton, Jessica Biel and Paul Giamatti. That summer I became enticed with the business, and decided that it was a career that I wanted to embark on. I opted out on finishing college at 19, and moved LA from New York to open up my own company, which I did, and met up with my business partner, Franco Sama, former celebrity publicist. We opened up the doors at Fylmar Productions in 2005. To get to where I am at, I started raising money and executive producing other people’s films to get my foot in the door, and built my resume and credibility in Hollywood. By doing so, I am now able to finance and produce my own projects.
I would attribute my work ethic, responsibility, and organization to my success. Also, I would have to throw in being from New York to that list! Growing up in New York, I promoted and worked with the nightclubs in Manhattan, and sold tickets to kids from Brooklyn, Queens, and Yonkers, which taught me how to produce events in tough areas successfully. Luckily those skills translated over to producing films, and raising money in Hollywood.
THE STAR SCOOP:
You’re a producer and an actor. How do these two roles challenge you, and will you focus more on one than the other?
JORDAN YALE LEVINE:
The challenge is definitely working both roles at the same time. Luckily, I have a great infrastructure with my company, that allows me to go off and act in a film or show, whenever I get the opportunity to. It is still hard being away from my production office though. When I was in Iowa, shooting “Maniacs,” I was checking my blackberry for emails and voicemails between takes, even when my character was covered in blood, which made it hard to check the phone.
At the end of the day, I am and have been a film producer for the past five years now. It is in my blood, and I am progressing in the industry with my projects rather quickly, while acting is somewhat new to me. With that being said, I have great time acting, and want to explore this side of the business more. I am acting in two upcoming projects I am producing, The Land of The Astronauts, and Wreckage, as well as starring in a 5-7 million dollar action thriller, my company is producing in the islands of Fiji later this year.
THE STAR SCOOP:
What do you want your fans to know?
JORDAN YALE LEVINE:
That you can accomplish anything you set your mind to as long as you put in the hard work. I came out here with no money in my pocket, because I refused to go to college, and my parents would not support me financially. Now, five years later, I have an office in the William Morris/Endeavor Agency building in Beverly Hills, and I am consistently producing new films. Hollywood is truly the city of opportunities!
