Mindy Kaling and Ellie Kemper Exclusive Interview

Mindy Kaling and Ellie Kemper, "The Office"TheStarScoop.Com spoke to Mindy Kaling and Ellie Kemper about this season of their hit show The Office.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What should viewers expect from The Office this season?

MINDY KALING:
I think viewers can expect – Well, we know Pam is pregnant so we’re going to have to play that off with a baby! We’re looking for a baby. A baby that wants to act, who is unemployed. Who can look at the camera, make funny noises at the camera, wink. Also adorable. The other thing, kind of interesting story line is her [Ellie Kemper’s] character, Erin and Andy played by Ed Helms are going to have a kind of love story.

THE STAR SCOOP:
As far as changes this season…do you see your characters evolving more? What do you see as far as your specific characters go?

ELLIE KEMPER:
I don’t know. My sense is that Erin is going to become more sure of herself. I could be making that up. I’m not a writer. A more mature her.

MINDY KALING:
As for my character, Kelly, I think she’s not going to change too much when she’s eternally kind of a 13 year-old idiot. I don’t think there’s going to be a lot of evolution. I also hope that the Kelly and Ryan romance never ends. I think it will be off and on for eternity.

THE STAR SCOOP:
With the show being so popular, has there been a pretty big fan response this season? What have people been saying?

ELLIE KEMPER:
Mindy co-wrote the wedding episode, and that was such a wonderful episode. I cried, I laughed.

MINDY KALING:
People really were waiting to see them get married. The second most thing that we’ve got so much feedback about has been this web series which Ellie and I star in and I directed. We’ve gotten more because of the music video, I think we’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback about it.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What should fans expect from both of you as the future comes? Other projects?

ELLIE KEMPER:
I don’t know what’s ahead for me!

MINDY KALING:
Just more Office. It’s pretty much a full time job between writing and acting in it. More Office stuff.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Do you see The Office going on a long time past this season?

MINDY KALING:
As a staple now of the NBC Thursday lineup, I can’t see us going anywhere anytime soon. Obviously, having a movie star as the lead character makes it a little bit unpredictable, but I think another year, two years. I like working here. I don’t want it to end!
