Natalie Distler Exclusive Interview

Natalie Distler

TheStarScoop.Com got the scoop from Natalie Distler about her recurring role on Rescue Me, as well as her major love for music!

THE STAR SCOOP:
You’re working on Rescue Me.

NATALIE DISTLER:
We just finished filming this season and I’ve been working on the show for five seasons but we’ve been working on this past season for about a year now, which is the longest we’ve ever worked on a season before. But it’s been fantastic.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Is Rescue Me. something anyone could start watching?

NATALIE DISTLER:
I think that you could probably pick it up fairly quickly. I know people that started watching it season two, season three, and the still haven’t seen the previous seasons, and they seem to be now caught up just fine. The little things they might have to read up on online to paste things together, but I think we do a pretty good job catching up the last week’s episode and piecing everything together. I think that it would be a pretty easy show for everyone to catch up on,

THE STAR SCOOP:
You play Colleen. What is she like as a character? You’ve been playing her for a long time. How has she evolved and changed as the show has gone on?

NATALIE DISTLER:
I started the show when I was fourteen. Colleen’s character was about the same age, so she’s really just grown up just like I have. She’s turned into a woman and she’s gotten a little bit more mature. This season, she’s got a more mature relationship. She’s not as wild and bratty, I think. She’s a little bit nicer and her relationship with her dad is a little bit better as well.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Do you feel like being on a TV show as you’ve grown up has affected your ability to have a normal childhood?

NATALIE DISTLER:
It’s always been what I’ve done. I come from a family of all athletes and no one in my family was into acting or music or anything. It was something that I wanted to do, and my whole life it’s been what I love and what I want to do. It’s never been something that’s been forced upon me. it’s just been what I love. It was difficult growing up. You go through the jealousy and issues other kids have. They don’t really understand why you’re doing that. I’m not better than anybody else because I’m on a TV show. I’m just normal. It changes a little bit because I think you’re looked at differently. I still had a pretty normal childhood. I’m kind of like an old lady in a younger person’s body. I always hang out with older people. I used to like to go over to my friend’s houses and hang out with their parents [laughs]. I’m pretty much a normal person.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What should fans expect from Rescue Me this season?

NATALIE DISTLER:
They should expect tons of craziness. It’s such a great season. We have so many fantastic guest stars this year, that it’s so amazing to watch everyone. I have a fantastic story line. Such a great season. It’s going to be lots of laughs, and some hard times. But it’s gonna be great.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Where can fans see you next?

NATALIE DISTLER:
I want to make the transition into features. Right now, I’m really focusing on my music career, which is my other love and passion. I’m actually in a band, a duo. We go play around Hollywood. We’re in the studio constantly, writing. People can check out our music on our Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/kyleandnatalie!

THE STAR SCOOP:
What do you want to say to your fans?

NATALIE DISTLER:
Live in the moment. Take every day as it comes and surround yourself with good people. And I hope they enjoy the season this year. I hope that they enjoy our music when they check it out as well.
