In December of 2007, TheStarScoop.com asked Katy Perry, if you become a household name in the future, how will that affect you?
This once barely-known singer is now not only a household name, but a record-setting, chart-topping artist. Katy has the highest pre-album street date track sales of all time, with 4.4 million digital tracks sold prior to the Teenage Dream album release.
When she was just a star on the rise, about 5 months away from the release of her smash single “I Kissed a Girl,” this is how she answered our question,
I come from a good foundation, and I hope coming from a good foundation will make the future stronger. I have a lot of friends that are “famous” or whatever, and I see the pressures and the responsibilities and the people that pull on you and then all of a sudden you have cousins that come out of the woodwork, and you’re like, Oh my God, you’re my cousin, really? So weird, I’ve never met you…and you need a house? That’s funnnnnny. I’ve seen it with a lot of my friends, so I expect things like that to happen, but, my sister will jerk a knot in my tail if anything…she has her fists ready to go.
Do you think Katy has stayed true to her word? We congratulate her on the success of her latest album! She co-wrote each of Teenage Dream’s 12 songs, collaborating with producers such as Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Tricky Stewart, Benny Blanco, Greg Wells, and Stargate. Let’s hope her next single is as hot as “California Gurls” and as dreamy as “Teenage Dream.”
UPDATE: It’s going to be a blast. Katy will release “Firework” in October 2010.
