It features two sisters:
You may be surprised to find out that the Official Hot Mess band was founded by two teenager sisters in Florida, Kristy and Lindsey.
Kirsty and Lindsey composed their first track at just five years old:
Kirsty and Lindsey were passionate about music and performing from an incredibly young age and wrote their first track together, when they were just five years old. However, while many kids may write and perform their own tracks in elementary school for their families, Kirsty and Lindsey were so talented that they were invited to perform their first tracks on a PBS kids’ show.
They signed their first music deal before they graduated from high school:
Another highlight in the sisters’ music career was signing a major music deal with a record label, before they graduated from high school. The girls’ first album Fallin’ Angel was produced by their first record company King Records, which was a subsidiary of Sony Music Japan. By 2007 the girls had dropped Fallin’ Angel which was marketed well by King Records and was a run-away success.
Their tracks featured plenty of their iconic attitudes:
One of the girls’ most popular tracks Money Makes the Girl$ Go Round, featured plenty of sarcasm and had a playful, cheeky vibe that suited the brand that the girls’ wanted to create for themselves. Which they believed would appeal to their target demographic, girls and young women who weren’t afraid to explore their edgy side.
Official Hot Mess band interview:
Money Makes the Girl$ Go Round was inspired by a party at the Playboy Mansion which the sisters attended. At the party, the girls admitted to engaging in a bit of people watching and witnessed some crazy events which inspired the lyrics of Money Makes the Girl$ Go Round.
Money Makes the Girl$ Go Round featured on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians:
The same track was so popular that it was used as a track on the iconic E reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Which really cemented the sisters success as a legitimate band.
Welcome to LA:
Another of the band’s successful tracks was Welcome to LA which was a track about the reality of chasing dreams in the entertainment industry in LA. So if you want to hear about the not so glitzy side of trying to make it big in Hollywood, you may want to listen to Welcome to LA.
So if you’re looking for a band with plenty of attitude to listen to it’s well worth seeking out some of Official Hot Mess’ past tracks such as Welcome to LA and Money Makes the Girl$ Go Round.
