One thing’s for sure: Runner Runner knows how to show their fans a rockin’ good time. This new band from southern California packed a powerful performance into their relatively short set when they opened for Cartel at the Intersection in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Ryan, Peter, Nick, Jon, and James kept the energy high and the fans happy with numerous power pop-rock songs and their commanding stage presence. The vocal and instrumental quality of the band’s on-stage performance rivals that of the songs available on their MySpace page, making a live show a must for any Runner Runner fan. The combination of boyish charm and rock and roll style makes this group irresistible onstage and off.
Despite their power during their performance, one of Runner Runner’s most remarkable assets is their connection with the fans. Before the show, the guys could be found near their merchandise table, having genuine conversations with their fans. They were always up for taking pictures and signing autographs. Where rock star egos could get in the way with other bands, the boys of Runner Runner prove that they are something more than your average rock group. They have winning personalities with the heart and talent to match.
Bottom Line: 4/5 Stars (they’re a new band but it was an amazing show!), room to grow, and just as good live as their recorded single!
